Webflow vs WordPress for a brand website

The right answer depends on who maintains the site, not on which platform is better.

The real difference

Design control
Webflow gives designers direct control over layout and interaction without a developer in the loop. WordPress depends heavily on the theme or page builder you choose.
Hosting and maintenance
Webflow hosts the site and handles updates and security. WordPress needs hosting, plugin updates and a security posture that somebody owns.
Extending it
WordPress has a plugin for nearly everything. Webflow has fewer options and usually needs custom code or a third-party service.
Editing
Webflow's editor is simple and hard to break. WordPress is more flexible and easier to break.
Running cost
Webflow is a predictable monthly fee. WordPress is cheaper in theory and variable in practice once hosting, plugins and maintenance are counted.

When Webflow fits

Choose Webflow when the site is a brand site rather than a publishing platform, when design fidelity matters, and when the people editing it are marketers rather than developers.

It suits companies with no in-house technical team, because there is nothing to patch and very little that a non-technical editor can break. It also suits studios, because the design intent survives handover intact.

When WordPress fits

Choose WordPress when you publish at volume, when you need editorial workflow with roles and approvals, or when you depend on a specific plugin ecosystem such as membership, complex e-commerce or a particular integration.

It is also the right answer when you already have a team who know it. Platform familiarity inside your own company is worth more than a marginal technical advantage.

What not to decide on

SEO. Both platforms can rank well. Search performance comes from structure, speed, content and internal linking, not from the CMS badge.

Speed in the abstract. A bloated Webflow site is slower than a lean WordPress one. Build quality decides this, not the platform.

What a studio prefers. Ask why they prefer it. A good answer references your team and your content. A weak answer references their workflow.
